A white couple chose IVF (in vitro fertilization) where a woman’s egg and a man’s sperm are combined in a laboratory dish (outside the body) to create an embryo, which is then implanted into the uterus to establish a pregnancy, to have a baby. When mom gave birth out popped a black baby. After further testing the baby was confirmand to be not biologically theirs. Long story short with a lawsuit on top of it they couple wanted to keep the baby. The catch was they had to get custody from the couple that the embryo belonged too.
Tiffany Score and Steven Mills who welcomed a baby girl through IVF that was not biologically related to them due to an embryo mix-up at a Florida fertility clinic, reached a custody agreement with their daughter Shea’s biological parents. Under the agreement, Score and Mills will remain Shea’s custodial parents and continue raising her as their own child. The biological parents will remain anonymous due to privacy concerns, but both families reportedly plan to maintain a positive relationship moving forward. The lawsuit against IVF Life, Inc. and Dr. Milton McNichol remains ongoing.
