Tyler Perry Explains Why Janet Jackson Was Not In “Why Did I Get Married Again?”

One of Tyler Perry’s fan favorite movies ‘Why Did I Get Married…’ has become a trilogy, ‘Why Did I Get Married Again?’, moving from coming to a theater near you to dropping on Netflix, Today, September 9, 2026.  With the dropping of highly anticipated ‘Why Did I Get Married Again?’ the burning question in fans minds to ‘Who the hell is this new friend Roselyn (Taraji P. Henson) and more importantly WTH happened to  Patti (Janet Jackson) !!??   After months of wondering, Tyler Perry addressed the elephant in the room.

Sitting down with Culture Creators, writer and director Tyler Perry explained that Janet’s absence simply came down to a scheduling conflict.

“At the time, she was doing her residency in Vegas, so we couldn’t work out the time,”

Tyler Perry also hinted that fans could potentially see Janet back in the franchise down the line, adding.
