People can say what they want about Tyler Perry but when Mr. Black Hollywood see’s someone that is need of help, he will reach out. Tyler Perry just put Allstate on blast for denying an 81 year old woman’s claim, “Hey Allstate… You call this being in good hands?”, then followed it up with a he handle it “help is on the way”.
A story recently went viral about 81 year old Brenda Daurham, who for over 30 years paid the highest premiums on everything in her home to protect her home incase anything went wrong, had the misfortune of something going wrong and Allstate denied her claim. Back in February a pipe beneath her kitchen sink burst, sending water rushing through her home. Daurham says she reached out to Allstate immediately, and according to her, they assured her that “everything was covered. I didn’t have to worry about a thing.” However according to Fox 32, Allstate refused to pay the claim, citing policy exclusions related to “wear and tear, deterioration and seepage.” The whole ordeal has left Brenda Daurham displaced and facing a $18k lein.
After seeing a FOX Chicago news report about the situation and being tagged on social media, Perry publicly called out the insurance company on Instagram, writing, “Hey Allstate step to the front real quick. This woman is 81 years old. You call this being in good hands? Tyler Perry’s public relations team reached out to the news station to confirm he would pay off the financial lien on her home and help fund the necessary repairs to restore the property.
