Sports commentator Stephen A. Smith is well known for his abrasive views that often times rubs athletes and fans the wrong way. Recently he rubbed NBA Lakers star LeBron James the wrong way which led to an on the court man to man confrontation Thursday night before the Lakers vs. Knicks game at Crypto.com Arena that was captured on a now viral video.
What had happened? What was said? Stephen A. Smith gave his side of the story.
According to Stephen A. Smith the confrontation, between he and LBJ stemmed from previous comments the ESPN sports analyst had made about, King James Son, Bronny James. Stephen A. Smith said the Lakers superstar was furious over “what he thought he had heard” him say about his eldest son on his “First Take” show … and he explained The King’s language was so vulgar, he couldn’t repeat it on national airwaves. Stephen A. Smith says he wished the conversation would have been had in a private setting, however, he understands where LeBron James was coming from as a father.
LeBron James son Bronny is currently splitting time between the Lakers and their G-League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers. Stephen A. Smith’s made remarks on “First Take,” calling for James Sr. to stop promoting Bronny as an NBA prospect.
“I am pleading with LeBron James as a father: Stop this. Stop this. We all know that Bronny James is in the NBA because of his dad,”
