Reportedly Southern University student, 20 year old Caleb Wilson, died following an of campus fraternity ritual. Caleb Wilson had been taking part in a ritual with members of Omega Psi Phi at North Sherwood Forest Community Park, where allegedly Caleb Wilson had been standing in a line as part of the initiation process when Wilson reportedly collapsed. NOLA native Caleb Wilson a mechanical engineering junior at Southern University in Louisiana, was pronounced dead after being taken to Baton Rouge General Hospital. Unfortunately, the what had happened was, had gotten murky because it’s being reported that Caleb Wilson allegedly wasn’t where or doing what was told to authorities leading up to his passing.
News of Wilson’s death sent shockwaves through other Divine 9 fraternities and sororities, in addition to HBCUs across the country. Omega Psi Phi’s President, Ricky L. Lewis, acknowledged that many people have questions regarding Caleb Wilson’s death.

It’s now being reported that, Caleb McCray, a graduate of Southern University and member of Omega Psi Phi fraternity who turned himself into Baton Rouge Police Department, has been arrested and charged him with criminal hazing and manslaughter in the death of Caleb Wilson. In addition to McCray, approximately 10 people could face charges in connection to Wilson’s death. Manslaughter carries the most serious consequence of up to 40 years in prison upon a conviction.
