Russell Simmons Is Speaking Out About Rape Allegations

Before there was a ‘Bad Boy Record’ Sean ‘Puffy’ Combs, the Hip Hop Godfather was Russell Simmons of Def Jam.  Russell Simmons was the pioneer and pavement layer for where Diddy was going.  Unfortunately sexual abuse and rape allegations seems to be part of the music industry pattern.  Russell Simmons is still living with the residual effects from rape allegations against him that Diddy is now defending of his own.

Russell Simmons is speaking out about multiple rape allegations made against him years ago, saying he has suffered greatly due to the allegations and he’s continuing to deny sexually assaulting anyone. 

Russell Simmons during a recent interview stops short of  calling his accusers liars, and instead, suggests this is more about changing times and attitudes toward sex. He says he’s had thousands of sexual partners over the years, but thinks it’s not fair to compare the climate of today to how it was 40 years ago.
