Prayers are most definitely in order as it has been reported that the head of the original family of The Real Housewives of Atlanta and husband of RHOA star Nene Leakes, Greg Leakes, has passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and loved ones at the age of 66 after a long battle with colon cancer.
The news of Greg Leake’s passing was reported by longtime family friend Ernest Dukes confirmed in a statement:
“Today the Leakes family is in deep pain with a broken heart. After a long battle with cancer, Gregg Leakes has passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by all of his children, very close loved ones and wife Nene Leakes,” “We ask that you pray for peace and strength over their family & allow them to mourn in private during this very very difficult time.”
Greg Leakes whose battle with Stage III colon cancer was documented on RHOA shared a marriage that spanned over 20 years with NeNe Leakes and a son named Brent age 22. Greg Leakes also had other children prior to marrying Nene Leakes in 1997.
Per Greg Leakes request he will be cremated however there will not be a funeral, only a celebration of life, that will be held at a later date.
Recently a fan came at Nene Leakes in a club getting pushy with her about not wishing the fan a Happy Birthday. NeNe then got on the mic and gave the testimony that Greg was at home transitioning.
