Reverend Al Sharpton and Tyler Perry partnered to offer a combined $100,000 reward for information regarding the death of 18-year-old Nolan Wells in Mississippi. Perry also paid for the teen’s funeral, where Sharpton delivered the eulogy.
On July 4th, 2026, Nolan Xavier Wells was reported missing after going on a weekend trip with friends on Horn Island, Mississippi. The Ocean Springs native was last seen shirtless, wearing blue swim trunks and black sunglasses, on a boat on the island with friends. The friends who were on the trip with him or their families have released formal statements in response to the allegations of their involvement. However, they have collectively said that they’re not sure where he went after being the ones to notify the police of him being missing.
Family and friends of Mississippi teenager Nolan Wells gathered Monday for his funeral in his hometown of Ocean Springs as authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death. Reverend Al Sharpton, who delivered a eulogy, said, “We want to celebrate Nolan, and at the same time, say we want a full and thorough investigation.”
Celebrities that were in attendance for Nolan Wells homegoing service included famed director Spike Lee and former NFL star Terrell Owens.
