Quality Control Has Announced ‘The Migos’ Are Officially Back Together

The Migos broke up due to severe internal tensions between Offset and the duo of Quavo and Takeoff, exacerbated by legal and financial disputes with their label, Quality Control Music, and rumored personal betrayals. The group officially split after Quavo and Takeoff formed a duo, followed by Takeoff’s tragic death in November 2022.   Then during the 2023 BET Awards Offset and Quavo set aside their alleged differences in a lyrical weep to endure paying tribute to their fallen brother Takeoff.  The the Migos duo joined forces again in November of 2023 for the one-year anniversary of Takeoff’s fatal shooting, Offset and Quavo shared a look back at their better days together, in unison Instagram video posts.  Fans were hoping that would spark them to stay together professionally, unfortunate that didn’t happen.  But what did happen was a shooting happened once again, rapper Offset was shot outside a Florida casino, in the valet area of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.   Praise God Offset survived, and his survival may have been the final piece that brought the Migos family back together again as Quality Control has announced that the Migos are officially back together again.

The Migos were related and raised together in Georgia. Quavo was the uncle of Takeoff, while Offset is Quavo’s cousin. The trio, originating from the Atlanta area, grew up together in a single household raised by Quavo’s mother.  The hip-hop trio Migos received two nominations at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards (2018): Best Rap Album for Culture and Best Rap Performance for “Bad and Boujee” (feat. Lil Uzi Vert). While they did not win, they were recognized for their massive impact on the 11 trap music landscape during that era.

On Tuesday, the label that launched the group to the mainstream back in 2015, Quality Control Music, posted image of Offset and Quavo posing together on their social media with the caption “Just what we needed” before tagging the group’s official Instagram account.  (see below)

While there is no release date for Migos new music, in previous interviews, Quavo has revealed that there are many unreleased Takeoff tracks that will likely make the album’s final tracklist.
