Queen Bey, Beyoncé returned to The Met Gala, the other night, returning to her throne as a co-chair in May 2026, for the first time since her last attendance at the Met Gala in 2016, with her daughter Blue Ivy making a historic debut at the “fashion’s biggest night.” The Met Gala is an annual fundraising gala held on the first Monday in May to benefit the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City. It marks the opening of the Costume Institute’s annual fashion exhibition and brings together celebrities, designers, and cultural icons to celebrate themes. However there are a couple of celebrities, actresses Jenifer Lewis And Taraji P. Henson to be exactly, that are calling out their counter parts for attending the 2026 Met Gala, sponsored by Jeff Bezos.
Taraji P. Henson slammed her fellow A-listers headed to fashion’s biggest night. This year, the gala was controversially sponsored by honorary co-chairs, Amazon Founder, Jeff Bezos and wife, Lauren Sánchez Bezos, who reportedly contributed $10 million to sponsor the gala amid reports of low wages, high injury rates, and poor work conditions for his workers.
“It’s wild to me that this event is sponsored by Jeff Bezos, who has backed Trump, who has slashed arts funding.” …“I am so confused by some ppl that are going. I am just like WTF ARE WE DOING!?!?!?!”-Taraji P. Henson
The worlds favorite auntie, ‘black-ish’ star, Jennifer Lewis, chimed in as well on calling out her fellow celebrities that were in attendance at the 2026 Met Gala.
“They cut 30,000 jobs and gutted ‘The Washington Post,’ and they showed up anyway? Posturing and posing, hoping to be the most? They cut one billion in funding for children’s nutrition. And there they all were, vying for the next position.”
