Prayers are in order as it has been reported that former HOT 97 radio personality, Timothy “Buc Wild” Joseph, of the “Star & Buc Wild” radio show, has passed away at the young age of 47 years old.
Reportedly Buc Wild’s longtime friend and former co-host Troi “Star” Torain announced the news during a YouTube livestream on Wednesday (Sept. 9). Star said Joseph died Sunday at the Pink Houses apartment complex in Brooklyn, New York. While discussing what may have happened, Star stressed that an official cause of death had not been confirmed, saying, “Possible f*ntanyl. I don’t have a confirmation yet.” Star also shared that Buc Wild struggled with dyslexia throughout his life, and he worked closely with him to help improve his reading comprehension during their time together at Hot 97.
“He was a likable guy… Buc could smoke weed with the KKK white supremacists; he didn’t give a fuck. If you had [weed] you had a friend.”
Timothy “Buc Wild” Joseph was part of a distinctive era. The “Star & Buc Wild” partnership developed from the personalities created by Torain and Joseph and eventually became a major presence on HOT 97’s morning lineup. The pair later continued working together at other stations and through their broader media projects.
