Prayers:  Roderick ‘Pooh’ Clark From The Group ‘Hi-Five’ Has Passed Away

Condolences and prayers are in order as it is being reported that Roderick ‘Pooh’ Clark of the hit 90’s R&B singing group ‘Hi-Five’ has passed away at the young age of 49.

Hi-Five is R&B quintet from Waco, Texas, that are best known for their #1 hit on Billboard’s Hot 100 in 1991 “I Like the Way (The Kissing Game)”,  that consisted of founding and original members Tony Thompson, Roderick “Pooh” Clark, Marcus Sanders, Russell Neal, and Toriano Easley, who’s debut self-titled album went platinum under the production of Mr. New Jack Swing himself, Teddy Riley.   Hi-Five’s rise to superstardom comprised of 4 albums and singles that were included in hit movies such as Menace II Society and Sister Act II, tragedies among group members struck.  In 1993 while the group Hi-Five was on their way to a radio interview their was a horrific car accident that left Roderick ‘Pooh’ Clark paralyzed from the chest down.  Then  2007 music fans hearts were broken when Hi-Five lead singer Tony Thompson was found dead at the age of 31.  Then just when the group was on the brink of a comeback in 2014 former Hi-Five member Russell Neal was charged with murder, over the fatal stabbing of his wife in Houston.

The news of Roderick ‘Pooh’ Clark’s passing on Easter Sunday was announced via Hi-Five’s social media.  According to Hi-Five member Marcus Sanders, Roderick “Pooh” Clark died from complications from an infection and pneumonia at a hospital in Waco, TX.
