Lil Durk Placed In Solitary Confinement For Talking Back To Prison Officials Days Before His Bonding Hearing

In the midst of Hip Hop standing in the gap for rapper Lil Durk by writing letters to a federal judge urging Lil Durk’ release, the Chicago rapper has been placed in solitary confinement for talking back to prison officials.

Reportedly Chicago rapper Lil Durk whose government name is Durk Devontay Banks, was moved into the Special Housing Unit at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Los Angeles, following Durk’s cell being “constantly searched,” with prison authorities having not found any contraband since he was acquitted in the murder-for-hire case.  However when Lil Durk asked the deputy warden about all the searches Durk was allegedly reprimanded for “talking back.”  This comes just days before Lil Durk’s bond hearing that is scheduled for Wednesday, November 4, 2026, before U.S. District Judge Michael W. Fitzgerald in a California federal court.

Lil Durk was found not guilty in his murder-for-hire trial in September. However, he still faces separate racketeering and firearms charges.  Durk’s original 2nd trial was scheduled for this past month,  but it got pushed back to August 2027.

Chicago native rapper Lil Durk was arrested in a murder-for-hire plot. Several members of the Chicago-based OTF crew, which Lil Durk allegedly has ties , were charged with the slaying of rapper Quando Rondo’s cousin. Lil Durk has been in federal custody since his arrest in October 2024 and has pleaded not guilty to all charges. In June 2026, prosecutors added new racketeering and “murder in aid of racketeering” charges related to alleged gang activity and other incidents in Chicago and Atlanta.
