This thing between Stephen A. Smith and LeBron James has gotten weird.
Sports commentator Stephen A. Smith is well known for his abrasive views that often times rubs athletes and fans the wrong way. Recently Stephen A. Smith rubbed NBA Lakers star LeBron James the wrong way which led to an on the court man to man confrontation during a Lakers vs. Knicks game at Crypto.com Arena that was captured on a viral video.
According to Stephen A. Smith the confrontation, between he and LBJ stemmed from previous comments the ESPN sports analyst had made about, King James Son, Bronny James. Stephen A. Smith calls LeBron’s confrontation over Bronny ‘weak but understandable,’.
Since then that’s all we have been hearing about for over two weeks about the confrontation, Stephen A. Smith’s perspective. Until now.
LeBron James during an interview on the “Pat McAfee Show,” said that Stephen was excited to talk about the moment, saying, “He’s like on a Taylor Swift tour run right now.” He continued to say,
“It started off with, ‘I didn’t want to address it … but since the video came out I feel the need to address it.”…”He completely missed the whole point. The whole point,” “Never would I ever not allow people to talk about the sport, criticize players about what they do on the court. That is your job to criticize. That is all part of the game. But when you take it and when you get personal with it, it’s my job to not only protect my damn household but protect the players.”
Here’s where things get weird…
Stephen A. Smith responded to what LeBron James had to say for a whole hour, Smith claiming he would’ve “immediately swung” on LeBron if James had touched him, “I would have gotten my ass kicked.”
Why was that even necessary to say??
Take a look at the videos below.
