As America is going through some pretty big changes since President Donald Trump took office in mid January, frustrations are running high. Nelly and Snoop Dogg took some heat by making the business decision to perform at Donald Trump Inauguration ceremonies, with the performers responding to criticism that it was not a political decision on their part. To the average Joe there is still some debate on their decisions, but to their counter parts in the music industry some are making it clear that they feel that what was good for Chrisette Michele is good for them.
Singer, songwriter, rapper and actress, Janelle Monae accompanied by Silk Sonic member Anderson Paak during a recent performance remixed Nelly’s “Hot in Herre” letting it be known exactly how she felt about Nelly performing for Trump.
After the Grammys on Sunday night, Monáe stopped by Anderson .Paak’s restaurant, Andy’s, where the pair hopped on stage for a jam session. At one point, the band started playing a rendition of Nelly’s “Hot in Herre,” which prompted Monáe to express her outrage over his Trump performance.
“Fuck you Nelly,” “I used to like Nelly … but then he performed for Donald Trump. Fuck that n***a. I don’t give a fuck … Nelly, you sold out. I used to think he was cool, but now you look like a motherfucking fool … Fuck you n***a. You get a new attitude.”
