Two young ladies, Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese, in 2024 changed viewership for women’s basketball professionally taking the WNBA to a whole other level. Both women are hard, gritty and amazing basketball players. Here is the separation Caitlin Clark for her ruff-n-tuff grittiness is celebrated, Angel Reese is given grief, on and off the court, even going so far as to be left off this years All-Star team. Caitlin Clark nine times out of ten gets the favor of referees while Angel Reese gets the whistle blowing short end of the stick and recently there is a replay flop being shard around the world to prove it.
Angel Reese is averaging a career-high 14.8 points and 11.7 rebounds per game, with exclusion from the All Star Team and whistles around her generating a lot of debate. So when the refs called another controversial offensive foul during the Dream vs. the Golden State Valkyries, she told the refs, “It’s a flop.” However, the replay convinced a WNBA broadcaster that the officials made the right call.
“She makes contact. Absolutely,”
However looking at the replay with our own 20/20 vision, not only did Golden State Valkyries, Laeticia Amihere flop she get an Oscar for the sell during and after. With many questioning is flopping becoming a fundamental of the game.
