A Truck Hauling 40,000 lbs of Frank’s Red Hot Sauce Spilled Onto A Road In Columbus [VIDEO]

Frank’s Red Hot Sauce you can’t put that s**t on everything, except a road.  While everyone is preparing food for the 4th of July  many peoples favorite ingredient was being spilled on a Columbus, Ohio, road.

Days before the 4th of July a semi-trailer leaked 40,000 pounds of Frank’s RedHot sauce while traveling northbound onto Interstate 71 just north of Columbus, Ohio.  When the driver noticed he pulled over at a truck stop.

Because the Frank’s Red Hot sauce is highly acidic, firefighters and the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (Ohio EPA) chose not to hose it off the road to protect local waterways. Instead, hazmat responders used containment pools and specific spill-mitigation equipment to stop the sauce from entering storm drains. The trucking company was ultimately responsible for hiring the cleanup crew to manage the hot sticky mess.
