Judge Allows Glenville HS Football Team To Play, But University School Refused To Play [VIDEO]

Glenville High School’s football team is at the center of a major controversy involving a late-season playoff ban, a court injunction, and an ongoing eligibility investigation by the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA), over what the school district says is an error.  A judge said until they work this out Glenville could play.  However they team they were rescheduled to play, University School, didn’t show up to the game.

“University School prepared and looked forward to competing in this year’s State Football Tournament in its match-up with Glenville, originally scheduled for the evening of Friday, October 30.  We were disappointed to learn of the initial cancellation of the contest on Thursday, October 29 and, then, surprised to learn of the temporary restraining order leading the OHSAA to reschedule the game for the afternoon of Saturday, October 31.  We will not compete in the now re-scheduled contest, respect the court’s prudence in deciding the ultimate outcome of the legal dispute, and will prepare to compete with Salem on Friday night if that is the resolution.”

Now it seems that the young men of Glenville will have to wait until this all plays out in court.
