A shooting at a McDonald’s in Hallandale Beach left an 11-year-old girl and her father injured while waiting in line for their food when they were caught in the crossfire in what is being reported as an alleged targeted shooting.
Police responded to an alert at the restaurant this past weekend and found the father with a gunshot wound to his hip and his daughter suffering from a severe head injury. Medical staff reported that the bullet had entered her forehead and lodged in her skull. As of now they say it can’t be removed or it could cause additional damage. Two other young children in the vehicle, ages 5 and 2, were unharmed.
Police arrested Ralph N-Kosi Blue III, 18, who is now facing charges of aggravated battery and aggravated assault related to the incident. Police said that the shooting investigation determined that it was a targeted incident that had originated just outside the fast food restaurant and ended in the McDonald’s parking lot.
The father has since been released from the hospital, while the 11-year-old girl remains in stable condition in the intensive care unit, police said.
