The Empire State of mind is, in New York! Concrete jungle where dreams are made of there’s nothing you can’t do 🎶 Well that’s not exactly true and a Russian couple has found that out after they climbed the Empire State Building to drop a banner then worked in a marriage proposal.
Angela Nikolau, 33, and Ivan Kuznetsov, 32, held a pro-peace banner that read “When the power of love beats the love of power, the world knows peace.” at the very top of the spire and shared some kisses before they were arrested.
Nikolau and Kuznetsov are known for their daredevil climbs around the world and had been profiled in the 2024 documentary “Skywalkers: A Love Story,” on Nexflix.
Nikolau and Kuznetsov were hit with numerous charges following their stunt, including burglary, reckless endangerment, criminal mischief, violation of local laws, possession of burglar’s tools, criminal tampering, criminal trespass and disorderly conduct.
The Empire State Building maintains strict, airport-style security protocols for all visitors and tenants. Everyone entering the building must pass through advanced magnetometers and X-ray scanners, and certain large items like glass bottles, weapons, and large luggage are prohibited. Despite these 24/7 protocols, the tower’s upper exterior remains a target for occasional high-profile unauthorized climbs and trespassing stunts.
We are sure that “Skywalkers: A Love Story” on Netflix will jump to number however the biggest question is when will they get out of jail to actually get married??
