Times are hard as it is and it seems like regular Joes with minimal risks jobs are in physical danger every time they clock in. A Chicago Transit Authority Bus driver was severely injured after escaping her bus that was being hijacked at gunpoint.
According to police, the incident happened Tuesday around 8:25 p.m. on the city’s Southwest Side. The suspect reportedly pulled out a gun and ordered the 35 year old female CTA bus driver not to stop. At some point, the driver managed to escape through a bus window, reportedly breaking her leg after jumping from the moving vehicle. Like something out of a movie the man fled the bus and entered an unoccupied vehicle that had been left running.
The man was taken into custody for allegedly hijacking the CTA bus a short time later and his weapon was recovered.
Quentin Lewis, 36, of Chicago is now facing felony charges including armed kidnapping, possessing a stolen vehicle, aggravated unlawful restraint and possession of a weapon as a felon.
