Lauryn Hill Brings The Grammy 2026 House Down With Tribute D’Angelo and Roberta Flack [VIDEO]

Lauryn ‘L Boogie’ Hill raised the Grammy tribute high last night when she brought the house down with a tribute to D’Angelo and Roberta Flack at the 2026 Grammy Award Show at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles last night.

The Miss Education of Lauryn Hill master and the Fugees singer performed as part of the “In Memoriam’ segment paying tribute to the artists and industry leaders who passed away over the past year that usually leaves viewers sad but like ‘Oh okay’, took tributes to another level as she was joined by a number of R&B stars including Jon Batiste, John Legend, Bilal, Lucky Daye and Leon Thomas.  Remembering the life and legacy of the late singer, Hill performed a cover of ‘Killing Me Softly’ alongside Wyclef Jean, and later transitioned into the Fugees version of the track.

The eight-time Grammy winner, Lauryn Hill, opened her set with a tribute to D’Angelo, beginning with “Nothing Even Matters.” Lucky Daye then joined her onstage to perform “Brown Sugar,” followed by appearances from Leon Thomas, Bilal, and others. The show continued with a performance of “Untitled (How Does It Feel),” before Jon Batiste closed out the moment, then in a flawless transition Lauryn Hill paid homage to Roberta Flack, starting with “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face.” Batiste returned to the stage alongside Leon Bridges, with October London and Lalah Hathaway joining in for “The Closer I Get to You.” The moment grew when John Legend and Chaka Khan came out to perform “Where Is The Love.” Wyclef Jean later joined the lineup to help deliver a moving rendition of “Killing Me Softly With His Song,”
