Jussie Smollett Wants Lawsuit Thrown Out Lying Isn’t A Reason To Sue!?

The city of Chicago is suing actor Jussie Smollett for lying about being attacked and costing the city, in what they say, $130K in damages.  However the very clever Jussie Smollett’s legal team is saying your honor this needs to be kicked to the curb because, how was a brotha supposed to know that a lie would cost that much!?

According to team Smollett they are asking a judge to throw the lawsuit against Jussie out because according to Jussie, even if he did lie, and he is not saying that he did, how could he have possibly known that an investigation into the fake crime would cost the city that much money.

“a direct link between [Jussie’s] statements and the costs the City incurred.”

All I’m going to say is this, at least where I come from, when folks started saying ‘if I were lying, but I’m not saying I did’, usually means, they was lying.  #IJS
