Dawn Robinson is singing FREE YOUR MIND and the rest will follow ♫
American singer and actress founding member of the Grammy Nominated R&B singing group En Vogue, Dawn Robinson, in a recent social media video post said she had been living “the car life”, meaning living in her car for 3 years. The revelation sparked reaction across social media as well as from celebrities.
“I’ve been living in my car for three years now. It’s been a challenging journey, but I’ve learned a lot about myself,”
Legendary producer Jermaine Dupri was one of those celebrities who decided to free his mind on his thought about Dawn Robinson shocking video, saying that she couldn’t be homeless while still having a personal assistant.
“It’s her choice to be in the car,” “From my understanding, for her to speak on it the way she spoke on it, she was basically saying that she saw other people living in their vans, living in RVs, and she welcomed the idea of doing this.” …”Having an assistant isn’t something that you should even think about if you don’t have no money,” …”It changed my whole vibe of what I was watching, because ain’t no goddamn way she got an assistant. … When you ain’t got no money and you out here just doing what you got to do, you doing shit by yourself. You moving around by yourself!”
Dawn Robinson sat down with ‘Way Up with Angela Yee’ where she responded to Jermaine Dupri’s (whom according to Dawn she has only met once) thoughts on her living situation.
“I’ve only met him once in my life, if that, so I was shocked,” …”He doesn’t know my story, so he’s assuming.”
Dawn Robinson took issue with Jermaine Dupri making a video addressing her story, without fully knowing her story
“Instead of reaching out to me directly and saying, ‘Hey, you know I heard about your situation, what do you need? Are you OK?,” “Or ‘Hey, I don’t know her story but she’s being very brave.’ Like, be quiet.”
