Former EnVogue Member Dawn Robinson Say’s She Was Living In Her Car For 3 Years [VIDEO]

American singer and actress founding member of the R&B/pop group En Vogue, Dawn Robinson, left the group and sign with Dr. Dre’s label Aftermath after difficult contractual negotiations reached a stalemate, in the height of one of the greatest female singing groups of all time.  In 1999 Dawn Robinson joined Lucy Pearl a group comprised of Raphael Saadiq,  Ali Shaheed Muhammad and Dawn Robinson.  Shortly after the release of their second single, Robinson left the group due to the lack of fair compensation within the group. After unsuccessfully trying to negotiate a fair agreement with her bandmate Raphael Saadiq, Robinson quit the group. Between 2002 and 2011 Dawn Robinson bounced back and fourth between being a solo artist and rejoining EnVogue, before performing in an EnVogue spinoff group the Funky Divas, while doing television in between.

Recently EnVogue member Maxine Jones rejoined the group with founding  Cindy Herron and Terry Ellis, as well as Rhona Bennet.  Three out of 4 isn’t bad, but what is going on with original member Dawn Robinson now?  According to Dawn Robinson in a recent social media post video she has been living “the car life”,  meaning living in her car for 3 years.

“I’ve been living in my car for three years now. It’s been a challenging journey, but I’ve learned a lot about myself,”

Dawn also said prior to living in her car she was living with her mother in Las Vegas until that arrangement stopped working out.

The 90’s group EnVogue is best known for their sexy, elegant style as well as their amazing ‘Born To Sing’ melodies and harmonies, was Grammy nominated 7 times and took home 2 American Music Awards.
