Texas (D) Rep. Al Green Speaks After Being Removed From Trump’s Joint Session of Congress Address [VIDEO]

If you tuned into President Donald Trump’s Joint Session of Congress, the room was clearly divided with the right side of the room dressed in black, with signage protesting the first 44 days of Trump in office.  Before the very long address got really started Texas Representative, Democrat, Al Green was removed from the House chamber after he disrupted President Donald Trump’s joint address to Congress.

Al Green who pushed for Donald Trump’s previous time in office impeachment stood pointing his cane at Donald Trump, shouted  ‘Mr President, you don’t have a mandate!’,  minutes into his speech, was issued several flags on his play by  House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., prompting him read aloud from House rules, before ordering that Representative Al Green be removed.

Republicans responded to Al Green’s removal chanting as if they were at a basketball game that a player got thrown out of, “Nah nah nah nah, goodbye,”

U.S. Rep. Al Green after being removed addressed the press:

“I’ll accept the punishment, but it’s worth it to let people know that there are some of us who are going to stand up against this president’s desire to cut Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security.”

Speaker Mike Johnson said Rep. Al Green could be censured for the incident.

Censure is a formal form of punishment which members of Congress can bestow upon their colleagues for behavior deemed unbecoming of a lawmaker. A censure of Green would require a vote by the full House.
