Singer Tyrese Tells Judge He Is Unable To Pay His Child Support

Baby Boy, Tyrese was in court about being short of his child support, not because he is willfully not paying but because he doesn’t have the ability.

Unemployment is real.

According to legal documents singer/actor Tyrese claims the reason he was recently short of the $10k he owes his ex-wife in child support is because his funds are low due to the strike that affected almost everyone in Hollywood.

According to RadarOnline:

Allegedly most of Tyrese Gibson’s income is from acting, more specifically the ‘Fast & Furious’ franchise. The last time Tyrese made money from Fast & Furious, though, was August 2022. Since then, he claims his income has dropped drastically, making him unable to fully pay his legal obligations. He says he makes less than 20% of his income from the F&F checks.

Tyrese Gibson’s lawyer added, “Neither [Gibson] nor anyone else in Hollywood could have predicted the major strikes in 2023 that affected everyone’s income who earns a living from the movie industry.”   “[Gibson] was gravely impacted just as everyone who works in Hollywood. Because of the six-month work stoppage in the film industry in 2023, and because [Gibson] has not shot a major film since 2022, [Gibson’s] income has decreased to less than twenty percent (20%) of what [Gibson] was earning in August 2022, which [Gibson] would like to prove at a hearing on this matter.”
