She’s Back !! Sha’Carri Richardson Wins The 100M In Record Time At Diamond League Race

As the saying goes you can’t keep a good man down, and in the case of track star Sha’Carri Richardson, a good woman.

Sha’Carri Richardson was tagged Flo Jo 5.0 after stating that ‘she’s that girl’ after dominating her first Olympic trials in Eugene, Oregon winning the women’s 100m finals with a time of 10.86 in 2021.  Sha’Carri Richardson then missed the Tokyo Olympics after USA Track & Field announced its full roster of athletes, revealing that she has not been selected as a member of the 4×100 relay team after being disqualified from the individual events due to marijuana usage.

Sha’Carri Richardson finished last in a field of nine runners in the 100 meters and withdrew from the 200 meters at the Prefontaine Classic on Saturday in Eugene, Oregon. Her time of 11.14 seconds in the 100 was well behind winner Elaine Thompson-Herah, the Olympic gold medalist from Jamaica who clocked 10.54 seconds for the second-fastest women’s time in history.

Not much had been heard from Sha’Carri Richardson since then.  But that was then and this is now.

At the annual Diamond League track and field meet in Doha, Qatar,  Sha’Carri Richardson competed in the 100m race against noteworthy opponents like Shericka Jackson (Jamaica) and Dina Asher-Smith (Great Britain).  Sha’Carri Richardson slayed the field in world record fashion  clocking in at 10.76 seconds, the world’s fastest 100m time this year, plus crushing the meet record of 10.80 seconds.

Welcome back to the track Sha’Carri Richardson!  Take a look at the video below.
