We are living in the age of social media pots with goals of becoming viral. Unfortunately we are also living in an age where there has been a thin line between what is and is not, disrespectful. Not to mention the age gap between the 60’s to the 20’s, where our new school is not fully education nor can understand the positions or the change in our circumstances in our everyday life. Hence why the family of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., let Sexxy Red know via social media that they were not feeling her post about the beloved civil rights leader on MLK Day.
The “Get It Sexyy” MC posted an AI-generated image of her holding hands with the late Rev. Dr. King via X on Monday, which was Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Which prompted Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s daughter Bernice King to strongly disapprove of the post via her own ‘X’ (formerly known as Twitter) account.
“This is intentionally dishonoring, deplorable, and disrespectful of my family and my father, who is not here to respond himself because he was assassinated for working for your civil and human rights and to end war and poverty,”… “Please delete.”
Sexyy Red later deleted the AI-generated photo of her and Martin Luther King Jr, then writing on X:
“You ain’t wrong, never meant to disrespect your family my apologies. Just [reposted] something I saw that I thought was innocent.”
AMEN!! Now this is how adult matters should be handled. When you are wrong, take accountability, apologizes, then keep it moving.
