Southwest Airlines is not a fan of Sandra Denton AKA Pepa from the legendary rap group Salt-N-Pepa as she was booted from a flight not for ‘A Salt with a Deadly Pepa’ but because she chose to try and ‘Express Yourself’ with a video after she didn’t get what she paid for.
Pepa was on a direct flight from Las Vegas to Nashville on Southwest Airlines for a meeting. Due to a previous knee injury from a 2018 car crash, she paid for 2 seats and used the services of a greeter for wheelchair assistance.
Although she paid for 2 seats according to Pep, they told her she couldn’t have them, even though she paid for them. Then a man boarded the plan asking for the seat claiming he had a funeral to attend, which led to a debate with other passengers joining in saying Pepa should give the man the seat, even though she paid for it. Somehow the man ended up getting the seat. Pepa then told her assistant that she should be recording the hard time she was being given, when booted her from the plane.
Allegedly Southwest told her she was removed because she was recording and they didn’t feel safe flying with her and reimbursed her the $2500 for her 2 seats. Pepa was able to reschedule her meeting in Nashville however she had to take a ‘L’ the $300 she paid for the greeter and $500 for the car service she never got to use.
Pepa says she may be exploring legal options while Southwest is maintaining their innocence.
