Five years after delivering one of the more memorable speeches in ESPYS history, in which she called out the coverage disparity for Black women athletes in the media, Dallas Wings star guard Paige Bueckers said the problem still exists.
Recently Dallas Wings guard Paige Bueckers during a press availability, pointed out the lack of Black women in head coaching roles across the league. She noted the critical influence of Black women, like her stepmom and AAU coaches, on her own life and career.
Paige Bueckers strongly advocated for more Black women to be hired as WNBA head coaches, emphasizing that the league was “built on a lot of Black women” and deserves to have equal opportunities on the sidelines.
