Texas Representative, Democrat, Al Green was removed from the House chamber after he disrupted President Donald Trump’s joint address to Congress. However that isn’t the only thing that went down that night that has raised some eyebrows. While Donald Trump was talking about how ‘he’ is going to make America great again, he would often use invitees to the joint address to Congress pep rally, to highlight what ‘he’ has done in his short 44 day window. One of the invitees that he used has raised the hair on the back of the NAACP’s neck.
Texas native, 13 year old Devarjaye ‘DJ’ Daniel, has been fighting a rare form of brain cancer and has dreamed of becoming a police officer, was recognized and appointed as an honorary US Secret Service agent in front of the nation. President Trump honored DJ as a part of his Make America Healthy Again movement.
Trump stated, “DJ and his dad have been on a quest to make his dream come true, and DJ has been sworn in as an honorary law enforcement officer.”
His father Theodis Daniel hoisted young DJ up in the air as DJ was given a standing ovation, in which DJ was extremely grateful as he hugged US Secret Service agent by Director Sean Curran when he came and handed DJ his credentials.
While the Daniel family’s friends and relatives were surprised to hear Devarjaye ‘DJ’ Daniels being favorably singled out by the president — who called him “a young man who truly loves our police” — they were not shocked. According to Theodis, the Secret Service induction marked the young teen’s 909th swearing-in as an honorary law enforcer.
The NAACP (via X) on the other hand found what President Donald Trump did hypocritical and disgusting.
Using a child as a prop to disguise that you’ve cancelled research funding for children’s cancer is not only hypocritical it’s disgusting. #jointsession
