Manhunt Over For Suspect of Minnesota Rep. Melissa Hortman and Husband Killed In Politically Motivated Shooting [VIDEO]

A manhunt was underway in Brooklyn Park for the person responsible the shooting deaths of Democratic Minnesota state Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband, and state Sen. John Hoffman and his wife who were wounded in politically motivated shootings.  Thousands of people in the surrounding were placed under a shelter-in-place order and all other Minnesota state lawmakers are under protective custody in coordination with the Minnesota Department of Public Safety and local law enforcement jurisdictions.

According to a report 55 year old Melissa Hortman and her husband were shot and killed in their Brooklyn Park home by an alleged suspect dressed as a police officer in what authorities are describing as an assassination.  Only 5 miles away Sen. John Hoffman and his wife were wounded in their home.

The manhunt is now over as police have apprehended without incident the shooting suspect 57 year old Vance Luther Boelter who was found in a rural wooded area west of Minneapolis.

Vance Boelter, a former political appointee and was once a member of the same state workforce development board as John Hoffman, faces two counts of second-degree murder and two counts of second-degree attempted murder. Investigators reportedly found a list of “targets” in the vehicle that he is thought to have driven for the alleged shootings.  He is due to appear in court in Minneapolis.
