KC Cheerleader Gets The Boot For Wearing A Bonnet

In the 1980’s it was the dreaded Jeri Curl plastic shower cap now it has been replaced in the 2000’s with the bonnet.

The most expensive piece of swag a young lady has would be the crown she wears on top of her hair, and a woman will protect that crown at all cost and here in the 2000’s that protection comes in the form of a bonnet.  Us old schoolers get mad when we see young women out and about with a bonnet on while the new schoolers believe that wearing a bonnet it par for the course.  So when the question becomes when is a bonnet expectable outside of your house?

Allegedly according to a Kansas City university not at cheerleading practice!!

20 year old Talyn Jefferson a Black Kansas cheerleader at Ottawa University says that she was kicked off the team after refusing to remove her bonnet during cheerleading practice.  According to miss Jefferson she wore the bonnet to protect her teammates from her 3 ft braids during practice but her coach allegedly wasn’t having it which led to the coach going on an alleged racist tirade before dismissing Ms. Jefferson.

In a statement released from the school in regards to Talyn Jefferson’s dismissal from the team:

“had absolutely nothing to do with her hairstyle,”  “No student has ever been sanctioned or expelled for wearing box braids, bonnets or any other hairstyle.”
