Jay-Z Legendary 2001 Summer Jam Performance Has Been Released [VIDEO]

We have gotten spoiled in our little social media lives, the pandemic taught us that you can see every concert, movie, television or interview from the comforts of your living room.  Social media has given us the comforts of if we attended a concert that was absolute fire, we can relive that moment again.  Everything in entertainment is tailored for the gram.  Can you imagine my brothers and sisters from the old school if we had that capability.  If we could got back and watch our first Hip Hop concert, or see Luther Vandross tearing the house down on a rotating stage inside the front row or Whitney Houston in her hey day live in concert from beginning to end, a real mother ship connection from Parliament-Funkadelic or a once in a life time Earth, Wind and Fire concert would be FIRE…wouldn’t it?

Aside from the ugliness of the 2022 Oscars we learned the beauty of footage being brought modern technology with ‘Summer Of Soul’  now we are also learning that Chub Rock is not the only brotha diggin in the crates, as someone dug out Jay-Z’s legendary 2001 Summer Jam performance out the crates.

Before all the money and glamour Jigga Man ripped up a NYC Summer Jam stage in 2001 that unless you were there, it was an urban legend.  Jay-Z debuted LIVE the Nas and Mobb Deep diss track “Takeover” for the 1st time ever then brought out Michael Jackson to close out the show.

Thank God for Youtube account HipHopVCR for dropping and sharing this rare footage that is almost an hour long with the HIP HOP fan culture.

Take a look at Jay-Z the legend being born in this raw footage that has never been released before in the video below.
