Donald Trump Has Given Schools a Two Week Notice, Get Rid Of DEI or Lose Federal Funding

The Trump Administration is serious about eliminating DEI, as they have served schools and universities a two week notice get rid of DEI or lose your federal funding.

According to a report a memo released on Friday states the Education Department gave two weeks for institutions to stop using “racial preferences” as a factor in several areas such as admissions, financial aid, and hiring. This demand threatens to overturn all aspects of campus operations, which can include questions on college applications to classroom lessons and campus clubs.

The memo is an extension of President Donald Trump’s executive order banning diversity, equity and inclusion programs. It essentially reflects a change in the federal government’s interpretation of antidiscrimination laws. As legal justification, it cites the 2023 Supreme Court decision barring race as a factor in college admissions. Although the ruling applied only to admissions, the memo says it “applies more broadly.”

Does this affect HBCU’s…YES!!

Many DEI initiatives play a critical role in ensuring federal support for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), providing essential funding for scholarships, infrastructure, and research programs that directly benefit Black students, rolling back DEI policies, HBCUs may face significant funding cuts, limiting opportunities for students who rely on these institutions for upward mobility and academic success.

See memo below, then give us your thoughts.
