Colin Kaepernick Paying For An Independent Autopsy For Man Eaten Alive By Bugs In Jail

35 year old LaShawn Thompson, was found dead in a Fulton County Jail cell in September 2022. An autopsy performed by Fulton County Medical Examiner says his death was ‘undetermined’, However their report goes on to state how Thompson’s body was “covered in bed bugs” and it was “unknown the last time the decedent was seen.”

The family of LaShawn Thompson believe he was eaten alive by bugs and has since released photos showing the cell’s condition and where his lifeless body had been found.

According to attorney Ben Crump, Colin Kaepernick reached out to the Thompson family to offer his help and that help is coming in the form of him paying for an independent autopsy of Lashawn Thompson.

LaShawn Thompson, who had schizophrenia, was arrested June 12, 2022 for a misdemeanor simple battery charge and placed into the psychiatric wing of the Fulton County Jail.
