Chase Bank Says Let’s Be Clear, Viral ATM ‘Glitch’ Is Check ‘Fraud’ [VIDEO]

Nothing in life is free and you might get away with getting too much change back at the grocery store, but you will not get away with getting too much money back at the bank.

Reportedly over the weekend TikTok videos went viral, claiming people could get “free” cash from Chase Bank ATMs. The videos showed users depositing large checks at ATMs and quickly withdrawing smaller amounts before the checks cleared, thinking they’d discovered a little loophole. In reality, this was check fraud—a criminal act. Chase addressed the issue and warned against attempting this trend.

A spokesperson from Chase bank said

“Regardless of what you see online, depositing a fraudulent check and withdrawing the funds from your account is fraud, plain and simple.”
