4 Yr Old Black Autistic Girl Left On A Hot School Bus For 7 Hours in TX [VIDEO]

As a parent our goal is to make sure our children are safe, we expect them to be safe in school and we put trust in our school bus drivers to make sure they get there safe.  Horrifying for one family that put their trust in that basic unspoken principal, the very opposite happened, when they put their 4 year old autistic, nonverbal daughter on a school bus, only to find out she never made it to school.  Even worse to later find out she was left on a blazing hot school bus for 7 hours.

Parents, Robert Pruitt and Keturah Crockett of Dallas, TX, are outraged their nonverbal daughter Araiya was left on the bus and another bus driver noticed her at the end of the day after the girl had been sitting in her own soiled clothes for at least seven hours, on a 98 degree day. Araiya never made it to her classroom in the morning and the parents were never notified that she didn’t make it or that she was missing. Apparently, the morning bus driver assumed the bus was clear and exited. When Araiya was discovered she was rushed to a local hospital for observation.

Dallas ISD released a statement to Fox 4 News, expressing that they were appalled by the incident.

Leaving a toddler on a hot school bus for seven hours is child endangerment. If anyone outside a school did that, we’d go to jail or otherwise ‘pay’ for the damages caused by our negligence.

Reportedly the bus driver has been fired.
