Brooklyn, New York native Abraham D. Juste, best known as actor Da’Vinchi has been on the upswing trajectory in his career playing in television/movie hits such as Terry “Southwest T” Flenory in BMF and most recently as Marcus Jr. in Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married Again? just to name a couple.  However with fame comes scrutiny and during an appearance on Cam Newton’s “Funky Friday” podcast, actor Da’Vinchi, his words has caused him backlash that has now cost him 200,000 followers on social media.

Somewhere in the interview Da’Vinchi argued that Black people are too stuck on the history of slavery and Black progress, suggesting that LGBTQ relationships have become more acceptable in society than interracial ones as a result.  Da’Vinchi claimed that white people enslaved white people, Black people enslaved Black people, and slavery existed long before the United States, suggesting Black Americans should become “smarter and more informed” and move forward.

In the midst of it all Da’Vinchi has been getting dragged for his comments and now his Instagram follower count reportedly dropped from about 2.1 million down to 1.9 million during the online backlash.
