7 Year Old Chicago Girl Stabbed To Death By A Woman While Walking On A Sidewalk With Her Sister [VIDEO]

This story is so heartbreaking as we are praying for the family of a little seven year old girl named Eddimar Hernandez in Chicago who was walking on a sidewalk with her 16 year old sister when she was stabbed to death by a woman.

7 year old Eddimar Hernandez was walking with her 16 year old sister in a shopping district in the Chatham neighborhood around 11:55 Saturday morning when a woman the girls did not know followed them and stabbed the little one multiple times in the back. Security video showed the child walking hand-in-hand with her older sister just before the attack. Bystanders who saw the stabbing grabbed the attacker and held her until police arrived. Sadly 7 year old Eddimar Hernandez was rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

48-year-old Shavon Gayden has been charged with first-degree murder in the incident. According to police, Gayden approached Eddimar near 86th Street and South Cottage Grove Avenue on Saturday morning and stabbed her multiple times in the back. The sisters were followed by the Shavon Gayden after leaving the store. Authorities haven’t said what, if anything, prompted the attack.  The mother of Shavon Gayden says she is sorry for the child’s death and believes years of efforts to get her daughter mental health treatment went unanswered.
