Fellow Juror Claims The Holdout Juror In The Lindsay Clancy Mistrial Was A Black Male Who Felt She Was Guilty [VIDEO]

On January 24, 2023, Lindsay Clancy fatally strangled her three children five-year-old Cora, three-year-old Dawson, and eight-month-old Callan at the family’s home in Massachusetts, before then attempting suicide by cutting her wrists and neck and jumping from a second-story window, sustaining injuries that left her paralyzed from the waist down. Lindsay later said she heard an auditory hallucination commanding her to commit the acts and felt unable to resist. On Friday, Judge William Sullivan declared a mistrial at Plymouth Superior Court after the jury deliberating whether Lindsay Clancy was criminally responsible for the strangulation deaths of her three children said it was deadlocked three times.  Today one of the 12 jurors is speaking out on who the holdout juror was, allegedly a black male who felt Lindsay Clancy was guilty.

Paula Devlin, one of the 11 jurors who voted to find Clancy not criminally responsible for strangling her three young children, revealed that the holdout was a Black man and the only person of color on the jury.  Devlin told Gayle King in an interview for CBS In The Morning that the ages of the jurors ranged from 22 to about 70, and there was only one member who was a minority, a Black male in his 30s who was also the lone holdout.  

“Everybody else was White.” Gayle King responded, “I have to sit with that for just a second.”

Paula Devlin continued to say they tried to convince him to change his mind but he would not.  Several jurors, including Devlin, have said the jury was divided 11 to 1 in favor of finding Clancy not responsible.
