Mother Charged With Murder After Finding A 20 Year Old Underneath Her 13 Year Old Bed [VIDEO]

A Tennessee mother has been charged with first-degree murder after allegedly shooting and killing a man who was hiding under her child’s bed.  What is causing debate on social media is that the man was 20 years old, however the 13 year old child whose bed he was hiding underneath invited him in and the mother shot him in the back of the head on the porch.

Per an arrest affidavit obtained by PEOPLE that was submitted by the Memphis Police Department to the state of Tennessee, officers responding to a shooting call upon arrival found an unresponsive 20 year old Rodderius Morton lying in the front yard “suffering from a gunshot wound to the back of his head,” per the affidavit.

According to the 13 year olds mother,  Kendra Scott when she arrived home,

“saw a dude under my kid’s bed.”…, “I did what I had to do,”

According to the 13 year old, whose name has not been released, told police that Morton was invited into the home at about 1:20 or 1:30 a.m., per the affidavit, then told police that Scott arrived home and began yelling, “Who’s at my house?” The child told police that they were afraid of Scott, who had a gun in her hand and had previously said that if she “sees a boy in my house I will put a hole in his ass,” per the affidavit.

According to Kendra Scott’s attorney the question becomes in this case, whether anyone could act rationally in this circumstance.
