Florida Man On The Ground Armed With Knives Fatally Shot By Police [VIDEO]

The family of 48-year-old Morris Davis killed by a Clay County deputy in Oakleaf Plantation Saturday has hired civil rights attorney Ben Crump to represent them, following Clay County Sheriff’s deputies fatally shooting Davis while on the round, unable to stand, unable to advance, posing no imminent threat.

On Saturday, May 9, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office said that deputies were called to the Silver Bluff neighborhood in Oakleaf Plantation to assist the Department of Children and Families with an investigation, when they identified Morris Davis, who was wanted on homicide charges out of Vicksburg, Mississippi.  Allegedly Davis ran into a neighbors yard where according to authorities they attempted to deescalate the situation.  Authorities say they tried to tase him unsuccessfully before shooting him.  Morris Davis family says that Davis was “already on the ground and physically unable to rise, posing no imminent threat to the officers present.”

Allegedly Morris Davis has been evading murder charges stemming from a murder that took place in December 2013.

The incident was captured on video.
