Brandy In New Memoir Claims She Was Only 16yrs Old When She Dated Wanya From Boyz II Men

It was always a rumor that singer Brandy was with Wanya Morris from Boyz II Men before social media in 1994 when they released a collaboration single “Brokenhearted”.  Wanya has repeatedly denied claims the two dated before Brandy turned 18 even going so far in a 2021 IG video saying look you can even ask Brandy.  It’s over 30 years later and Brandy is now answering fans suspicions while answering Wanya’s “ask Brandy”, unfortunately it’s not the affirmation Wanya had wanted to hear.  According to Brandy in her new memoir ‘Phases’ she dated Wanya Morris at 16 years old while he was 22 years old.  Not only did Brandy divulged that age nugget, she also revealed that her age while dating him was “Brokenhearted” thang.

Brandy in her memoir ‘Phases’ said she admired Wanya, who served as her music mentor, during the early days but, she says he quickly “weaponized” that admiration.  According to Brandy, Wanya regarded her only private to her being his girlfriend but not publicly.   Brandy says at 16 years old she thought they were madly in love but when the two had sex for the first time, it wasn’t about her at all. She says he was “getting what he wanted from someone too young to recognize she was being used” … adding his interest seemed to stem from her being “conquerable.”  Brandy also said that she was saving herself for marriage and gave up her virginity by having sex with Wanya to cement their relationship, that dissolved due to Wanya cheating.

In hindsight, Brandy says,

“I believe he took advantage.”…”The silence ends here. I was not a fast girl with a crush,” …”I was not a dramatic teenager who couldn’t handle rejection. I was not an unstable obsessive fan. I was a child. He was an adult. And it’s time the world understood the difference.”
