First “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” now ‘The View’. It seems that if you have an opinion that is not pleasing to President Donald Trump, especially a televised opinion, there is a chance that your show just might go away. The White House is threatening to pull ‘The View’ following comedian and television host of ‘The View’, Joy Behar saying on air that Donald Trump is “jealous” of Barack Obama because he’s not “trim” or “happily married.” Joy Behar’s comments were in regards to the Trump administration accusing Barack Obama of treason.
Reportedly The White House issued a response via Entertainment Weekly in regards to Joy Behr’s comments, calling Behar an “irrelevant loser” suffering from “a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome.” also stating that:
“She should self-reflect on her own jealousy of President Trump’s historic popularity before her show is the next to be pulled off air.”
FCC Chairman Brendan Carr weighed in on ABC’s The View, following The White House’s response to Behr’s comments:
“Well, look, I do think you see significant lower ratings. If you look at Colbert, the reporting from there was that they were losing $40 to $50 million a year. And I do think there’s a lot of consequences once you sort of expose, as President Trump has, what’s going on with a lot of these institutions. And again, President Trump is reflecting where the American people are. People simply do not trust these institutions anymore. It’s the erosion of trust that undermines the business case for these institutions.”
A rep for The View didn’t directly respond to the warning but pushed back on the ratings dig, citing Nielsen data showing the show is “up in total viewers and women 18–49” and currently ranks No. 1 among all network daytime talk shows.
