Joy Reid Bids Farewell To MSNBC With Class And A History Lesson [VIDEO]

The best way not to be woke is to stay sleep.

MSNBC Political Commentator Joy Reid became a fans favorite for keeping things real on “The ReidOut,” with her no holds barred interviews that at times called for her to have to ‘read’ somebody.   As we are trying to figure out what’s going on politically in America with the change of administration, MSNBC was cancelled Joy Reid’s show “The ReidOut” Ironically enough just days before MSNBC announced the cancellation of “The ReidOut” MSNBC congratulated Joy Reid on their social media for receiving multiple NAACAP awards.

Contrary to what some have said about Joy Reid’s views her colleagues are publicly standing with Joy Reid.  Rachel Maddow took a moment on Monday night to address the “changes” being announced at MSNBC, reminding her viewers that “The Rachel Maddow Show” will revert to only Mondays at the conclusion of President Trump’s first 100 days in office, and specifically called the cancelation of “The ReidOut” as well as Reid’s exit from the network “very, very, very hard to take.”

“..I have had, in all of the years I have been alive, there is no colleague for whom I have had more affection and more respect than Joy Reid,” …I do not want to lose her as a colleague here at MSNBC, and personally, I think it is a bad mistake to let her walk out the door. It is not my call, and I understand that, but that’s what I think.”

Last night Joy Reid bid farewell to MSNBC with class, decked out in her MSNBC ‘The ReidOut’ gear, using her opening and her final hour on MSNBC to remind her audience about the importance of remaining vigilant and advocating against “fascism” as she welcomed MSNBC anchors Rachel Maddow, Nicolle Wallace and Lawrence O’Donnell to the broadcast.

“We begin tonight with what I think is the question when you are in the midst of a crisis, and specifically a crisis of democracy: How do you resist when fascism isn’t just coming, it’s already here?” …. “What, if anything, can you do about it? For one thing, you can try to learn from history, from what people in this situation, in countries around the world and in America, have done before. As my friend Rachel Maddow always says, History is here to help.”
