Dolly Parton Defends CMA’s Snubbing Of Beyonce’ [VIDEO]

The Bey-hive isn’t happy, and the math surely isn’t mathing, “Texas Hold ‘Em,” the lead single off of Beyonce’s “Cowboy Carter,” became the first by a Black female artist to top Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart after it was released in February.  However not good enough for a CMA nomination, as Queen Bey did not receive not 1 nomination for her country project.

Country Music living Legend, Dolly Parton, is now giving her thoughts on the Country Music Awards snubbing of Beyoncé at their upcoming award show.

Despite being featured on Beyoncé’s ‘Cowboy Carter’ album, Dolly Parton say’s she understands the committee snubbing Beyonce’.

In an interview with Variety, Dolly Parton had this to say:

“Well, you never know,” …”There’s so many wonderful country artists that, I guess probably the country music field, they probably thought, well, we can’t really leave out some of the ones that spend their whole life doing that.”

“It was a wonderful album. She can be very, very proud of, and I think everybody in country music welcomed her and thought that, that was good,”

“I don’t think it was a matter of shutting out, like doing that on purpose. I think it was just more of what the country charts and the country artists were doing, that do that all the time, not just a specialty album,”
