Olympic great, gymnast Simone Biles at the of 27 is sitting on top of the world as the G.O.A.T. At the Paris 2024 Games, Simone Biles broke the tie with Shannon Miller for the most Olympic medals by an American gymnast. However life of Simone Biles wasn’t always gold, at 3 years old Simone Biles was put into foster care while her biological mother battled drug addiction. The blessing was that her grandparents, her biological mother’s parents, adopted her and embraced her greatness. Nothing much is said about Simone Biles biological mother nor has anything been heard from her until now.
Shanon Biles, Simone’s biological mother, in a recent interview spoke on the thrill of watching her daughter’s victory while feeling the agony of defeat because she was watching at home. She also said she gets updates on her famous daughter’s life, from her dad but hasn’t spoken to Simone herself. When asked does she have a number to contact her at she said she does, but she feels that Simone should be calling her.
“I want her to reach out to me. She’s 27 now. She’s married. I would have liked to have been a part of that, but I just have to wait for her — You can’t push anybody. It hasn’t happened yet, but I have patience. I’m waiting on her.”
Her father Ronald and his wife Nellie adopted Simone, and her sister Adria while her two older siblings, Tevin and Ashley were raised by Ronald’s sister. Today Shanon is clean and sober, but says she is ‘a recovering addict and will always be an addict.’
