Sad News: MC Lyte’s, Mother, Constance Moorer Has Passed Following Battle With Cancer

Prayers are in order as it is being reported that the woman that brought one of Hip Hop’s greatest female lights, MC Lyte, into the world has passed away following a battle with cancer.

The sad news of Constance Moorer, MC Lyte’s mother, passing was reported by the legendary rapper herself via social media with a beautiful photo tribute.

It is with great sadness that I share that my mother, Constance Moorer, transitioned this past week. Diagnosed with cancer in 2022 she fought through every moment of surgery, chemo, and radiation with the hopes of one day being cancer-free.

My mom woke up every day with the greatest attitude and with her heart full of a song for the Lord. Anyone who came into contact with her felt her light and her beautiful energy. That smile. A true joy.

We will be keeping MC Lyte and her family uplifted in our prayers.
